Well I made it to the first base with a short but crazy flight. Landed in Baghdad rushed through what I thought was customs and the baggage claim… the locals were all are very aggressive not hesitating to demand a tip for grabbing my bags without permission and putting them on the floor… what the fuck? Back in Dubai international airport, man what a mess this is, rush, go, stop, wait, rush go, stop and wait. They only way to describe it is being a rancher taking his cattle to the slaughter house… only in this case I’m the cow. So begins a new chapter in my life. I’m leaving for Iraq today! I arrived at the office early Friday morning sometime around 2am to get the necessary documents and wait for the shuttle bus to take us to the airport where we will depart from Houston, TX and hopefully end up in a military base just north of Baghdad in Iraq.
